Susan Stencil - Owner/Director/Yoga Instructor

SusanStencilAt 50, most people begin to think about what they will do when they retire. I laugh when I think it only took me 50+ years to decide “what I want to be when I grow up!” In 2007, I was introduced to hot yoga; after my first class, I knew my future was born. I had finally found what I had been searching for my entire life. This type of yoga was healing, peaceful, rewarding and life-changing. I could now ultimately see myself doing something that would help others achieve radiant health and allow me to operate my own successful business. I became a certified Bikram Yoga Teacher in the fall of 2009, and I also received additional certification to teach the style of yoga you will experience at our studio. Building my very own studio is a dream that I am still watching unfold with much amazement and gratitude. I am very excited to share this dream with each of you, and I'm looking forward to getting to know each of you and watching how this amazing practice of yoga and pilates brings you health, peace, and life-changing results.

Dan Stencil – Practitioner 

DanStencilVisit the studio any given day and you will see me practicing hot yoga in Susan’s Venus class and helping to take care of the studio. We are so honored to be part of this great community and hope you will enjoy taking our large variety of yoga and fitness classes. After playing college football and many years of running competition, I was extremely inflexible. In the few years I've been doing hot yoga, my flexibility has improved more than I ever thought it could! If you think you can’t do this type of yoga...just ask me. I will tell you…yes, you CAN!




Bridget Camp - Yoga Instructor

FullSizeRender_copy2I was first introduced to hot yoga when a friend and I signed up for a month of classes. As soon as I tried it, I was hooked. I love the “high” that comes from a sweaty Vinyasa class, and the meditative calm that occurs in yin and venus, which has greatly relieved my scoliosis. I grew up in Clarkston where I was involved in teaching kids Martial Arts classes. I have a Masters Degree in Elementary Education, and have found the same mindfulness adults use on the yoga mat is a great tool for young kids in the classroom! In 2016, I completed my 200 hour teacher training simply to deepen my own understanding of the practice. I had no intention of ever teaching classes, but here I am, I couldn’t be more excited to be part of CHY! My goal is to create a space where others can gain greater physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well being.


Christin Hasselbring - Fitness Instructor
SelfI have my degree in Exercise Science from CMU and have been in the corporate wellness industry for over 20 years. I was just out of college when I started teaching group fitness classes and have been helping people achieve their fitness goals ever since. I teach a variety of classes but lately I have been teaching bootcamp, kickboxing and interval training. I live in Oxford with my husband and 2 kids. I am busy just like you but I always find a little time to exercise!


Diana Potter - Yoga Instructor

image1I was a preschool teacher when I first tried yoga, and I was hooked after my first class. I just loved feeling so good and refreshed afterwards. I knew one day I would be a yoga instructor, but I just didn't know when. I kept brushing it off until one day, out of nowhere, everything fell into place. It's funny how the universe works, you just have to listen. I have been practicing yoga 3-4 times a week for the last 6 years. Yoga has definitely changed my everyday life by giving me more patience, calmness, compassion and love, as well as teaching me to be in the present moment. I am a better person now since adding a yoga practice into my life. I'm excited to be a yoga instructor and to be able to show others the benefits of yoga; the journey it can take you on through mind, body and spirit; as well as being a life changing experience. I am a RYT-200 with Yoga Alliance.

PorscheFischerPorsche truly believes that yoga is a sanctuary that can save and improve lives. She has relied on the therapy that her yoga practice provides to enhance the quality of her life and the lives of those around her for over a decade. Her classes focus on using laughter, play, and years of experience as an E-RYT to strengthen, heal, and empower the body and - most importantly - the minds of her students. She is currently pursuing her RYT 500 and is also a Ph.D. Candidate and Professor of Sociology who has been teaching Marriage and the Family at Henry Ford College in Dearborn for over 10 years.

LynnThomasI love practicing, teaching, and learning yoga. Since I began practicing 12 years ago, it has been an amazing path of discovery and opening. Teaching the past five years has brought invaluable experience, and I am honored to be a part of the Clarkston Hot Yoga and Latitude 42 community.










Renee Felix – Yoga Instructor

reneeRenee has been teaching yoga for the past 8 ½ years and practicing yoga for 14. Renee teaches and practices many forms of hatha yoga. She is registered with Yoga Alliance as an RYT-200, she is also a certified Ascension and Aerial Yoga Instructor as well as a past Hoopnotica Certified Hula Hoop Instructor. Renee loves to be creative and help students to find their own inner wisdom and confidence in their practice. Renee’s favorite aspects of the Yoga teachings have evolved over the years. From feeling like she always needed to break a sweat to now experiencing many different forms of yoga and knowing that each practice is one of self-observation and creativity. “Yoga has been an amazing journey for me both in my personal life as well as my professional life. First it has allowed me to work deeply on my own life philosophies and family as well as offered me the opportunity to share this beautiful practice and its many benefits to students which are life changing for so many people. Anyone who comes into my classes will be guided with compassion to help them also discover the many benefits that I have experienced from the practice of yoga.”

Tiffany Turner - Fitness Instructor

TiffanyI have been an exercise addict most of my life! I have been an avid runner, stepper, and anything else that gave me the endorphin rush. Recently I have focused on Tabata training, TRX, Kettle-bells, cycle and kickboxing. I am certified in these areas plus Pound Fit! I have four kids that are also super active and I love to watch all of them be physically successful too! I am very excited to have been part of the Clarkston Hot Yoga studio – and now adding in Latitude 42! I think exercise should always be FUN.

Shelly Battershell - Fitness Instructor

FullSizeRenderMy name is Shelly Battershell. I am married with four boys. Four years ago I decided to get in shape and eat healthier to keep up with my boys. I lost over 80 pounds by eating better and working out. I fell in love with the workouts and decided to get certified. I love helping others in their journey. "If you change nothing, nothing will change!" As of summer 2016 I am certified in TRX, barre intensity, kickboxing and cycle.
